About Lauren

Lauren Lemke is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist with YOW Wellness. Her goal is to help others bring their bodies back into balance through dietary, and lifestyle changes, supplementation, and detoxification strategies. Lauren uses bio-energetic testing, and dietary assessment tools to help assess organ stresses and blockages throughout the body. She is passionate about each client and committed to encouraging change in both the mind and body. Lauren has been on her own health journey over the last 8 years where she and her family have struggled with Lyme disease, co-infections, mold toxicity, and virus overload. When she was 38 years old she found herself in the hospital having heart issues. The struggle began when medical doctors could not find anything wrong and wound up telling her it was in her head. As a mom, with 3 kids she taught herself how to medically advocate for herself and began finding answers. 15 months after her initial onset of symptoms Lauren received the Lyme and co-infection diagnosis. Her journey was just beginning.

For the next 3 years, she was treated by an LLMD (Lyme Literate Medical Doctor) in Raleigh, NC USA where she did 1 year of 9 different antibiotic treatments and even had a PICC-line surgically placed to receive IV antibiotics. The treatment was brutal and she felt many times that if this disease was not going to kill her the treatment was. A couple of years into treatment her 15-year-old son got very sick and was bedridden and her 5-year-old stopped eating. Both boys were diagnosed with Lyme and Bartonella. The treatment was grueling for them. When they struggled to get better the family realized that they were mold-toxic due to their home which was causing their bodies to not heal. The family left all their belongings and moved out. They left with little more than the clothes on their back. Once in a new environment, Lauren and her family were able to decrease their infection and toxic load. The whole family is now thriving!

Lauren decided that she needed to go back to school and get a degree in Holistic Nutrition so that she could give back to the community. Lauren graduated from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in 2022 and is enthusiastic to bring balance back into her community. She believes that all bodies can heal they just need to be given the proper support and tools….

Lauren graduated from Catawba College, with a bachelor of education in 1999, and she worked as an elementary education teacher for several years before going to school in 2021. Lauren is also a member of the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition Alumni Association.
